Biography

Catherine Hooper, M.A., is a skilled nonprofit professional, experienced grant writer, degreed technical communicator, and a trained storyteller.

A passion for helping agencies develop funding streams, resources, and systems necessary to deliver truly impactful programs.

Catherine’s background includes expertise in social services, domestic violence services and shelter, pregnancy support programming, mental health services, trauma-informed care, workforce development, rural community advocacy, and ex-offender reentry. She is a skilled project manager who excels at helping nonprofit teams design effective, measurable, and sustainable programs. Catherine’s passion is helping agencies develop funding streams, resources, and systems necessary to deliver truly impactful programs.

 

Since Catherine began working in nonprofit development in 2007, she has written or been part of grant teams obtaining more than $20 million in support from local, regional, and national funders, and she has personally overseen a thriving grant department annually securing over $4 million in funds. Her experience spans diverse funder types (government, corporate, private) and includes individual awards up to $1.5 million. Finally, Catherine has been part of teams committed to redesigning direct service programs to be more effective and comprehensive, with a focus on client-centered, outcome-driven programming.
