Biography

Rozanne Prather is a development and communications professional, a proud Kansas Citian, and a champion for living and leading with positivity. As a skilled connector of people and exceptional causes, one of her greatest strengths and passions is cultivating meaningful, strategic and enduring relationships. Chairing the most successful-ever fundraising auction at her kids’ school initiated a 15+ year career in nonprofit executive leadership.

I have never taken for granted the unique privilege that comes with a career in philanthropy. Each day is an opportunity to witness both the giving and receiving of exceptional kindness and generosity.  It’s always an honor to be a part of such life-changing work.

Rozanne’s nonprofit leadership began in 2001 at Catholic Charities Foundation of Kansas City-St. Joseph, wearing many hats on the way to Executive Director and Chief Strategic Officer. Her development plans included individual/corporate cultivation, innovative grants team, multi-platform appeals and communications, special events, vehicle donation program, volunteer services, and a dynamic Junior Board. In her decade of service, Catholic Charities celebrated unparalleled growth and diversification in revenue, services, and community engagement in its 135-year history.

In 2010, Rozanne joined Truman Medical Centers (TMC), the area’s cornerstone safety-net hospital system. As Director of Communications and Stewardship, she crafted development plans for TMC Charitable Foundation’s annual fund, employee giving campaigns, and successful $10.6 million capital campaign. She added to her portfolio a range of high profile, award-winning fundraising events, as well as corporate sponsorship, media relations, and donor-centric communications including the annual Gratitude Report and rebranded, redesigned website.

Most recently, Rozanne served as Vice President of Donor Relations and Procurement for Disabled American Veterans and City Union Mission. Here she ensured a steady pipeline of donated goods to sustain a $25M, 15-store retail thrift operation.

Rozanne received a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communications and a minor in Journalism Studies from Missouri State University.
